Narrative Model:



Exposition
What is the setting? Who are the characters and what is there situation at the beginning of the play?

Inciting incident
What is the first thing that happens to set the story in motion? It is the first presentation of the major problem or obstacle in the story.

Rising Action
Name at least three things that happen that lead up to the climax. These should be events pertaining to the main problem.

Climax
How does the story get resolved? The climax answers the question, “Do the main character’s get what they want and how does this happen?”

Falling Action
What are the actions taken after the climax?

Denouement
What will become of the main characters? Do they change or go back to the way things always were? How have things changed?
